Threaded Studs
A threaded rod, also known as a stud, is a relatively long rod that is threaded on both ends; the thread may extend along the complete length of the rod. Studs are metallic rods, either threaded their entire length (continuously threaded), or with a base on one end that is pressed into a housing or chassis, leaving the male thread exposed. Continuously threaded studs are sometimes slotted on one end. Threaded Studs are often set into mounting plates to attach motors, brackets or other sub-assemblies where access to the reverse side of the plate is not available.
